Becoming a ghost writer is one of the most popular ways to earn money from home as a virtual assistant or freelance writer. In this post, we’ll share tips for how to become a ghost writer and excel in your area of writing!
1. Pick several areas of interest.
What types of things interest you? You certainly don’t want to be writing about things that don’t interest you, so it’s important to pick areas of interest to write about that are important to you. Do you like writing about fitness? Write about it! Some other popular topics for ghost writers are: finance, budgeting, family life, food/recipes, couponing, health and wellness, and more! 2. Write original content only.

It’s important as a virtual assistant or ghost writer to negotiate the terms with your client prior to doing any work. Things that you need to negotiate:
- How will you get paid?
- When will you get paid?
- What is the deadline for your work?
- Are there any other expectations?
This is a great starting point for becoming a ghost writer and the more experienced you become, the easier it will get. Remember, no client is out of reach! Believe in your skills, apply for everything you feel qualified for, and even things you don’t feel qualified for!
